Human Mobile Devices (HMD), a Finnish mobile phone manufacturer, has announced a partnership with the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Rajasthan Royals (RR).
HMD will serve as the official smartphone partner of the Royals during the ongoing IPL 2024. The brand seeks to elevate its national visibility via this pact with the former champions.
Additionally, HMD plans to utilize the partnership to showcase its upcoming innovative technology, ideally suited for capturing and sharing the excitement of live sporting events.
Speaking about the newly-formed partnership, Tathagat Jena, Head of Marketing and Online Biz, India at HMD, stated, “Together with the Rajasthan Royals we will hit this brand association out of the park, it’s an affiliation of two brands that aim to be ahead of the curve – we both are passionate, bold, and always one step ahead.”

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia-branded phones, is a Finnish mobile manufacturer. Formed in 2016, it acquired the rights to sell Nokia devices from Microsoft. HMD Global focuses on smartphones and feature phones, aiming to bring the Nokia reputation for reliability and affordability. The smartphone manufacturer recently announced plans to launch phones under its brand alongside Nokia phones in India.
The team, currently leading the IPL 2024 standings under Sanju Samson, welcomes HMD to its growing roster of sponsors. Existing partners include Bisleri, Movado, All Seasons, Jio, Schneider Electric, BookMyShow, playR, NEOM, UBON, and Poornima University.
Tonight, RR will face Gujarat Titans (GT) at 7:30 PM IST at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
