In the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad today, i.e., Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 PM IST.
GT have had a good season thus far, ranking sixth in the standings with three wins and three losses. The top order has been scoring runs, courtesy of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, but middle-order batters like Abhinav Manohar, Matthew Wade, and others need to step up. Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan are still reliable to finish the job in the end, which we have already witnessed this season but others need to back them as well. However, the Afghanistan legend needs to pick up wickets, which has been lacking in the past few matches. Umesh Yadav, Spencer Johnson, and other players need to improve as well.
On the other hand, DC have just won two games out of six and will have some serious business to follow in the second half of the season. The unit will aim to have some runs from the top order, particularly from David Warner. Jake Fraser-McGurk has been a good find as he hit a fifty on his debut, while the likes of Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs are already in fine form. The team still needs someone who can bat at a strike rate of more than 200, and Shai Hope could be able to fill that role. Khaleel Ahmed has been lethal, with Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel doing admirably in the middle overs. Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma have also done a good job thus far.
Head-to-Head:
In the head-to-head matchup, GT have won two of three games, while the Delhi side has won just once.
In their previous encounter, which took place last year, DC won the match by five runs.
