The Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, UP Warriorz (UPW) have had a decent run so far in the competition, having won two games out of four matches. The side is currently third and will strive to remain consistent from now on. The unit will next take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 4.

Owned by Capri Global, the company bagged rights to the Lucknow-based team for INR 757 crore, confirming its entry into the cash-rich league. The team released a statement stating that it is a momentous time in cricket history and that the Women’s Premier League gives the side a platform to highlight its efforts to reduce gender inequality. The entity’s major goal is to inspire women and athletes from all walks of life.
