BCCI unveils successful bidders for Women’s Premier League

The financial bid submission process for the WPL team took place earlier today in Mumbai.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced successful bids for the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd has acquired rights to the Ahmedabad franchise for a whopping INR 1289 crore. The rights for the Mumbai franchise has been obtained by Indiawin Sports Pvt. Ltd for INR 912.99 cr. Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd has laid its hands on the Bengaluru franchise for INR 901 cr. JSW GMR Cricket Pvt. Ltd and Capri Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd have secured rights to the Delhi (INR 810 cr) and Lucknow (INR 757 cr) franchise, respectively. Following these developments, the BCCI has added INR 4669.99 cr to its bank.

The financial bid submission process for the WPL team took place earlier today in Mumbai. Earlier this month, the Indian media broadcasting baron, Viacom18 claimed exclusive rights to the WPL for five years.

The first-ever edition of WPL is likely to be held between March 4 – 26, 2023. The Indian governing body of cricket is yet to make an official announcement on the schedule.
