Tottenham Hotspur has signed a deal with Herbalife Nutrition granting them the title of the official nutrition partner to the club’s women’s team ahead of the upcoming 2021-22 Women’s Super League season.
The agreement with the club was brokered by You First, the global talent representation agency that specializes in athlete representation and sports marketing.
According to the agreement, Herbalife Nutrition branding will be seen on the back of Tottenham Hotspur Women players’ shirts and on stadium signage. The women’s team shares the main shirt sponsor AIA, sleeve sponsor Cinch, and kit supplier Nike with its male counterpart.
The agreement will see Herbalife and Tottenham Hotspur collaborate on content creation for fans and Herbalife Nutrition members in the UK and globally. In addition, the brand will also be providing expertise and its Herbalife24 sports nutrition products to create nutrition programmes that maximize player performance.
Commenting on the agreement, Manny Nwosu, country director, UK, Ireland and Iceland for Herbalife Nutrition said, “By combining our nutrition expertise, our experience of working with elite sports teams and our leading range of Informed Sport-approved sports nutrition products, we’ll support the players with their unique nutritional requirements both on and off the field.”
Herbalife Nutrition continues to expand its sponsorship portfolio in football. The brand has been the nutrition partner of Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy in the US since 2005. The brand has also served as the club’s main shirt sponsor since 2007.
The company has also recently sponsored top European women’s teams, such as Atlético Madrid Femenino where it is the main shirt sponsor, and Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, where it is a third-tier official partner.
