San Jose Earthquakes and Udemy announce multi-year partnership

The collaboration designates Udemy as the official learning & skills partner and the official training jersey partner for the Quakes.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) team, San Jose Earthquakes have announced a multi-year partnership with Udemy, a leading global online learning platform.

The collaboration designates the online learning platform as the official learning & skills partner and the official training jersey partner for the Quakes.

The partnership will see the E-learning platform’s logo displayed prominently on the front of the team’s training jerseys and warmup gear, worn by players and coaches during practice sessions. This visible presence signifies the commitment of both organisations to fostering learning and development within the Earthquakes community.

The partnership extends beyond brand recognition. The team from San Jose and the online skills training platform will work together to provide subsidised access to Udemy’s extensive course library, boasting over 220,000 courses, to underserved communities. The focus will be on offering in-demand Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications and other relevant skills training.

Additionally, a year-round educational program featuring Udemy courses will be implemented for the local residents.

KLUTCH Sports Group, an American sports agency based in Los Angeles, was instrumental in securing this partnership between the two entities.

Ian Anderson, Chief Strategy Officer at the San Jose Earthquakes, said, “The San Jose Earthquakes are thrilled to welcome Udemy as our new Official Learning and Skills Partner, and our Official Training Jersey Partner. Udemy is a global technology brand dedicated to transforming lives through learning and democratizing access to education and skills, with a strong commitment to the Bay Area. We are looking forward to working together to make a meaningful impact across our joint home region, providing communities with access to a variety of technical, leadership, and professional content on the Udemy platform.”

Genefa Murphy, Chief Marketing Officer at Udemy, said, “This partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes showcases our commitment to empowering historically underserved communities in the Bay Area with access to cutting-edge learning and skills. Together, we’re bridging the skills gap and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to develop the in-demand skills they need to thrive in today’s hyper-competitive job market and rapidly evolving digital landscape.”

Udemy is a popular online learning platform that connects students with instructors from all over the world. With a massive library of courses on nearly any topic, the learning platform offers a flexible and affordable way to learn new skills or expand knowledge.
