Cazoo strengthens presence in Europe with football sponsorships

Cazoo has grown to over 4,000 employees in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal over the years.

The UK’s leading online used car retailer, Cazoo is in a rock-solid form in 2022, having established a strong presence in European football through sponsorship agreements with several top clubs.

Cazoo was founded in 2018 by the renowned British entrepreneur, Alex Chesterman and has so far sold over 50,000 cars in the UK since its beginnings, as users have grasped the choice, value, clarity, and simplicity of buying used cars entirely online.

In February, the company signed a multi-year agreement with Real Sociedad, a popular Spanish football club. The company will be the LaLiga team’s main partner and shirt sponsor for the upcoming season.

Valencia CF, another LaLiga club, has also formed a partnership with the leading car retailer platform. The LaLiga club will grant Cazoo front-of-shirt sponsorship rights under the multi-year agreement, which will begin with the start of the 2022-23 season.

In England, Cazoo has extended its contract with the Premier League club, Everton FC. Both parties originally agreed to a contract in 2020, which has been now extended further.

Cazoo also inked a multi-year alliance with the Ligue 1 club, Lille Olympique Sporting Club (LOSC). From the next season, the company’s logo will appear on the jerseys of all of its sports teams, including men’s and women’s professional teams, as well as Lille Academy youth teams. This branding exposure will extend to the Pierre Mauroy stadium, numerous products, official derivatives, the club’s website, and a system of ‘complete visibility during television broadcasts.

Cazoo also signed its first sponsorship agreement in Germany with the Bundesliga club, SC Freiburg. Just like the other teams, the company’s logo will be printed on the front of the jersey in this deal.

Recently, the organisation partnered with the Italian club, Bologna FC. Both the men’s and women’s teams will have Cazoo’s logo on the front of their jerseys as part of the multi-year agreement.

Cazoo has grown to over 4,000 employees in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal over the years, making it one of Europe’s fast-growing companies. It makes perfect sense for a company of this calibre to collaborate with numerous successful clubs throughout Europe.
