The Indian OTT Platform, currently serving as the official digital partner of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023-27, JioCinema has appointed the Indian Cricket Team and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper, Rohit Sharma as its new brand ambassador.
The 35-year-old sensational batter ended his association with Star Sports, the TV broadcast rights holder of the IPL, before signing a new deal with JioCinema.
The OTT platform assured that Rohit will start a new inning to establish its aim of making sports viewing synonymous with digital.
The MI captain will now be seen in the ad campaigns and promos, and he will also be playing a huge catalyst by taking the company’s digital-first proposition for all premium sports properties nationwide expanding the fan base.
Earlier, the digital partner of the tournament had partnered with the players like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Suryakumar Yadav, and Smriti Mandhana as its ambassadors.
Both JioCinema and Star Sports are toiling hard to grab maximum attention from both viewers and advertisers by running a high-octane marketing campaign around this marquee Indian T20 League.
Popularly known as ‘Hitman’, Rohit is considered one of the sensational batters of the world in the current times, because of his classic batting style and elegant knocks. He is the only batter in the world of cricket to smash multiple double centuries in One Day Internationals (ODI) and scored the world record for the highest ODI score (264) against Sri Lanka in Kolkata. He is also the most successful captain of the IPL, as he led his team to five IPL titles.
