In the 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Gujarat Titans (GT) are set to host Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad tonight, i.e., April 4 at 7:30 PM IST.
Coming into the match with a win, GT will once again back themselves to win this contest. The side, which has Sai Sudharsan and David Miller in form, will only hope that its skipper Shubman Gill fires at the top along with Wriddhiman Saha. The likes of Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahul Tewatia also need to be tested for the long run. However, with the ball too, the home unit scalped eight SRH wickets in the last game, highlighting the efficiency that both pacers and spinners have. Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Rashid Khan, and Noor Ahmad have been clinical and will have to be consistent if GT have to go long into the tournament.
On the other hand, PBKS, who will be playing after a good four days of gap, will aim to forget their last outing and refresh themselves for the new challenge. While Shikhar Dhawan has been consistent, he needs serious assistance from other batters too. While Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone are in good shape, the Indian batters, including Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma, need to buckle up and score some vital runs. With the ball too, Sam Curran and Arshdeep Singh have been great but spinners need to deliver tonight if the side wants to take two points back home.

In the head-to-head competition, both sides played against each other thrice, in which GT won twice and PBKS just once. In their last outing, which took place in the previous edition, GT won the game by six wickets.
