In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are set to host the defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali tonight i.e. Thursday, April 13 at 7:30 PM IST.
PBKS had a great start to their IPL 2023 campaign with a couple of comprehensive victories before they suffered a defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The team lost the game in the first inning itself as most of the batters failed to contribute except the skipper, Shikhar Dhawan. The 2014 runner-up would look to move on from their previous defeat and get back on the winning track. Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada have joined the team and are likely to be featured in tonight’s game. The addition of Livingstone and Rabada will strengthen the team’s balance and the unit will aim to grab two-more crucial points tonight and re-enter the top four of the points table.
On the other end, GT, who are in the fourth position, was struck by a heart-wrenching defeat last Sunday against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) due to Rinku Singh‘s five sixes in a row in the final over. With the regular skipper, Hardik Pandya returning to the team, the IPL champions will like to forget the previous defeat and move ahead. Rashid Khan continues to do well with the bat and ball and the Afghan player will be the deciding factor going ahead in the tournament. A win tonight will help the team to make a place for themselves in the top three.

It’s a tie between the two teams in the head-to-head competition as both sides played against each other twice and won a fixture each. In the last outing between the two teams, which took place in the previous edition, PBKS won the game by eight wickets.
