In the 38th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Monday, April 25 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST.
Chennai Super Kings will be heading into their next fixture on the back of a massive victory against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Thursday. The display of swinging deliveries by Mukesh Choudhary along with the finishing skills of Mahendra Singh Dhoni must have instilled confidence in the unit. The Ravindra Jadeja-led team isn’t having the best of a season at the moment. The defending champions played seven games, lost five and won two. At the moment, the Chennai-based franchise has acquired the ninth spot with four points.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings’ momentum have been derailed after two consecutive defeats. The Mayank Agarwal-led team started the season really well but couldn’t maintain the good form. PBKS played seven games so far out of which they won thrice and lost four matches. The team didn’t seem to be on track in the previous match as they couldn’t stand a chance against Delhi Capitals (DC) earlier this week. With six points, PBKS find themselves at the eighth spot.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, CSK have the upper hand. The two franchises faced off on 26 occasions, Chennai won 15 games while Punjab emerged victorious on 11 instances.
In the last outing between the two teams earlier this season, the Punjab-based team won by 54 runs.
