The UK-based betting firm, Betfred has been appointed as the main sponsor of the forthcoming World Heavyweight Championship fight between British boxers Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora.
The event will take place on December 3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will be broadcast live on BT Box Office in the UK and Ireland, ESPN+ in the US, and multiple other regions.
Fury’s third defence of his WBC title is expected to draw a crowd of more than 60,000 people, according to boxing promoter Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions firm.
Betfred, Boss, Fred Done, said, “It is the heavyweight division that really captures the attention of both the public and punters alike and I am really looking forward to another great battle between Fury and Chisora at the fantastic Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.”
Frank Warren, commented, “Tyson is a genuine superstar and him defending his world heavyweight title against a fellow Brit at the biggest club stadium in London will make for a magnificent spectacle.”
The arrangement expands BetFred’s sponsorship portfolio, which also contains title sponsorship of the Betfred World Matchplay darts championship until 2025 as part of a three-year renewal signed in July with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC).
Betfred was also named the principal sponsor of England‘s men’s, women’s, and wheelchair rugby league teams ahead of this year’s Rugby League World Cup. In this deal, Betfred received brand visibility in front of England’s jerseys during the tournament. Moreover. Betfred is also the title sponsor of the Super League, rugby league’s top-tier club competition, until the end of the 2023 season.
