adidas affirms long-term association with FC Barcelona’s emerging star Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal's pact with adidas will also feature collaborations with the Spanish national team, beyond his role with FC Barcelona.

adidas, the renowned German sports brand, has signed the 16-year-old football prodigy, Lamine Yamal, from the Spanish football club, FC Barcelona (FCB).

“I’m so proud to join Adidas. It has always been the brand that the best players wear,” said the 16-year-old Barcelona star about the partnership

Yamal has been testing new pure white boots since January 27, resembling those of his idol Lionel Messi. In a recent UEFA Champions League match against Napoli, the right winger showcased his chosen pair, identical to Messi’s favourites.

“Leo Messi used to be my idol growing up, and he has been wearing Adidas boots since I started watching football. I’m very excited for the years to come,” Yamal added.

A report from Mundo Deportivo has revealed plans for a massive billboard featuring Yamal’s image in Catalonia, extending to canopies, subway cars, and shop windows.

Yamal’s endorsement deal with adidas will also feature collaborations with the Spanish national team, beyond his role with the five-times European champions.

adidas, Europe’s premier sportswear manufacturer, is also known for extensive sports sponsorships and endorsements – Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rohit Sharma, Loitongbam Ashalata Devi, Shaili Singh, Manika Batra, and Sandesh Jhingan.

The La Masia graduate is having a standout season with 25 appearances in LALIGA, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
