WPL 2023 Sponsors Watch: Gujarat Giants

Back in January, Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd acquired rights to Gujarat Giants (GG).

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, Gujarat Giants (GG) didn’t get off to a good start to the first edition of the tournament as they witnessed a solitary victory in their first three fixtures. The team also carries the worst net run rate, currently, as well. As the matter of fact, the team’s off-field performance is quite contrary to its on-field outing.

Back in January, Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd acquired rights to the Ahmedabad franchise for a whopping INR 1289 crore. Mithali Raj joined the side as a mentor in the same month. Later, Rachael Haynes was named the team’s head coach, in February, the WPL’s first player auction took place, and the Gujarat-based franchise added 18 players to its roster.

As mentioned before, the team performed well on the commercial pitch as the unit consists of globally renowned players alongside the team owners pertaining rich experience in owning franchises/clubs in different competitions.
