The Women’s Premier League (WPL) team, Gujarat Giants (GG) have announced the addition of Ambuja Cement to their sponsorship portfolio.
In this development, the Gujarat-based franchise has named the Indian cement-producing company as its title sponsor.
The WPL franchise unveiled this agreement through its social media handles, with the caption, “Talk about a mazboot partnership! @AmbujaCementACL joins us as our title sponsor for the #WPL!”
Ambuja Cement, which was formerly known as Gujarat Ambuja Cement Limited, distributes cements and clinker for both export and domestic markets. The company was founded in 1983 and since then has been one of the prominent names in its sector.
Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd obtained rights to Gujarat Giants earlier this year in January in the team auction, which was conducted behind closed doors. The sports division of Adani Group made a whopping bid of INR 1289 crore. Prior to this development, the Gujarat-based team also landed deals with Tata Capital and Adani Group.
The Australian professional cricketer, Beth Mooney has been named Gujarat Giants’ captain and the team will kick off its inaugural WPL journey tonight in the season opener against Mumbai Indians (MI).
