Sydney FC collaborate with Sydney Catholic Schools for nurturing new football talents

Sydney FC and Sydney Catholic Schools will be working together on several ventures such as the development of the football players from the school.

The A-League outfit, Sydney FC have established a strategic collaboration with the Sydney-based educational institution, Sydney Catholic Schools.

Through this pact, both bodies will be working together on several ventures such as the development of the football players from the school, and also will curate some programs that will aim to nurture the sport in the school and the city.

The programs curated through the collaboration will assist the students to get to important aspects of the game, which are technical, tactical, and strategic.

Through mentorship programmes, students will also have a unique chance to learn from the experienced coaching staff, gaining insights into football and building life skills.

As part of the collaboration, a Sydney FC/SCS Game Development Officer will be appointed, whose only goal will be to get kids interested in football.

Mark Aubrey, Chief Executive Officer, Sydney FC, said, “Developing young people and young footballers is central to Sydney FC’s values and philosophy. This partnership with SCS allows us to offer more opportunities for young girls and boys to increase their skills and abilities on the football field as well as off it.”

He also said, “We are looking forward to working with all of the students within the Sydney Catholic Schools system and giving them the specialised learning and mentoring our coaches can provide.”

Declan Donohue, Manager of Sport at SCS, commented, “We are extremely excited to see our students benefit from the unique opportunities that Sydney FC will provide. With Sydney FC’s help, we will be able to offer more support to students who have a passion and talent for football while also helping maintain a strong focus on their education.”

He further stated, “With Sydney FC’s help, we will be able to offer more support to students who have a passion and talent for football while also helping maintain a strong focus on their education. At SCS, we are strong believers in the power of sport to shape character and foster personal growth and this partnership is a perfect embodiment of that.”

Before this deal, the unit already added Macquarie University and Billbergia to its sponsorship case.

Sydney Catholic Schools is a network of 147 Catholic primary and secondary schools that serves the entire Sydney Archdiocese and offers reasonably priced, superior education to around 73,000 students. Their committed and industrious teachers provide a solid, faith-based education to learners of all skill levels and interests.

The Sky Blues have started their 2023-24 campaign catastrophically, as the unit faced two defeats in a row in its opening two games. The club will be looking forward to opening its tally with a win against Melbourne City FC in the next game at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium in Melbourne.
