Sony signs seven sponsors for India’s upcoming tour of England

The tour will be aired by the pay-TV broadcaster in India on the Sony Ten 4, Sony Ten 3, and Sony Six channels.

The official broadcaster of India’s tour of England, Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) has struck deals with seven sponsors for the upcoming Test series.

The highly-anticipated five-match Test series between India and England will commence on August 4. The tour will be aired by the pay-TV broadcaster in India on the Sony Ten 4, Sony Ten 3, and Sony Six channels.

The network has got on board Byju’s, Pan Bahar, Mahindra Sports Utility Vehicles as co-presenting sponsors of its coverage.

Kent Mineral RO has collaborated with SPSN as the extra innings presenting sponsor, along with Ultratech Cement, Pharmeasy and Fogg.

The developments regarding deals come two weeks later Sony agreed to a content partnership with Twitter and Facebook for India’s tours of England and Sri Lanka.

India’s first fixture against England will be played at Trent Bridge, which will be followed by matches at Lord’s, Headingley, The Oval and Old Trafford.

The Indian camp in England suffered casualties even before the tour commenced as Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill got injured and were ruled out of the Test series. BCCI initially rejected the Indian team’s request in the UK of getting Prithvi Shaw on board for the Test series but later agreed to it.

Following the quarantine in Sri Lanka after being in close contact with the COVID-19 positive Krunal Pandya, Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav has to return three negative RT-PCR tests to board the flight to the UK.
