The fourth and final Grand Slam of the 2022 season, the US Open is all set to commence tomorrow i.e. August 29. The tournament will run until September 11 and as always, it will be played at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows in New York, United States.
Both the defending champions, Daniil Medvedev and Emma Raducanu, will face stiff competition to retain their respective titles.
Men’s world No. 1 Medvedev and four-time titleholder Rafael Nadal will lead the field. Fans will miss out on seeing Novak Djokovic as he is unvaccinated. On the other hand, Emma Raducanu will be under pressure to perform well, given her phenomenal growth in the last 12 months.
Serena Williams, who is playing in her final major, will also be in the spotlight as the 23-time Grand Slam champion is ready to advance into a new chapter of her life.
There will be 128 players in the singles draw, 64 pairs in the doubles draw, and 32 pairs in the mixed doubles draw. Wilson US Open Regular Duty Balls will be used in the tournament, which is played on outdoor hard courts.
