Paris Olympics inks sponsorship deal with Optic 2000

The vision of Optic 2000 is to build a team of Olympic and Paralympic ambassadors and back them until 2024.

The organising committee of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris has inked an agreement with the French optician chain, Optic 2000. The new contract will see Optic 2000 become an Official Supporter of the Games, which scripts the third level of the domestic sponsorship programme. The agreement commences from March next year.

As part of the deal, about 5,000 Optic 2000 employees will participate in various activities to raise awareness of vision wellness and sports participation.

The leading optical network in France will also organise awareness campaigns for visually impaired people in the lead-up to and during the Paralympics. The brand will also offer licensed Paris 2024 products in its stores over a tie-up with sports sunglasses company Julbo.

The vision of Optic 2000 is to build a team of Olympic and Paralympic ambassadors and back them until 2024. The brand is a long-term supporter of the French Paralympian, Trésor Makunda who won the bronze medal in the men’s 400m T11 event at Tokyo 2020.

Optic 2000 joins IT services company DXC Technology and catering company Sodexo as the third Official Supporter of Paris 2024.

The Official Supporter tier is addressed between the mid-ranking Official Partner tier and the highest-ranking Premium Partner tier in the Paris 2024 sponsorship tower. Groupe BPCE, EDF, Orange, and Sanofi are Premium Partners, while Accor, Cisco, Decathlon, FDJ, Le Coq Sportif, and PwC are Official Partners.

The hospitality company, Accor became the latest sponsor of Paris 2024 last month. The brand will use its Accor Live Limitless loyalty programme and booking platform during events as an Official Partner of the Games.

The plans for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, which will take place on the Seine River, were unveiled earlier this week. For the first time, an opening ceremony will occur outside the stadium.
