With this deal, the brand has been named the official airline partner of the side for the upcoming SA20 season.
The Cape Town-based team announced the association via its social media handles with the caption, “Connecting Southern Africa, connecting the blue-and-gold 💙 To reaching new heights together ✈️ Welcome aboard, @fly_airlink 🤝”
Connecting smaller, more isolated areas with larger hub airports is the main function of Airlink. It has expanded to encompass flights on bigger, primary routes as well. More than 45 destinations in Southern Africa are served by the airline’s more than 60 routes. In January 2021, it ranked third in terms of seats and second in terms of flights operated within Africa.
MICT had the worst outing last time in the tournament, finishing last on the points table as they lost seven out of 10 matches.
