The European football league, LaLiga has formed a strategic alliance with the prominent Chinese firm, Vivo in Spain and Portugal. This partnership is held for two years ending in 2025 and it made Vivo, the official smartphone partner of LaLiga.
The collaboration between the two globally recognized organizations will promote digital transformation and advancement in the football and sports entertainment industry. With the significant outreach of the European league across the globe, the fourth largest smartphone unit will aim to increase its outreach and brand portfolio in the football world.
The President for Spain and Portugal at Vivo, Diego Xiao, commented on this grand association and said, “LaLiga and vivo share a passion for making new, unique and innovative experiences possible for our fans. In fact, a fundamental part of this collaboration, in line with the slogan of a campaign we’re launching “Cuánto más lo vives, más te une”, is the commitment of both brands to design, innovation and passion.”
Óscar Mayo, the executive general director at LaLiga, also put forth his views on the long-term partnership and said, “We are delighted to welcome vivo to the portfolio of LaLiga sponsors. We both look for excellence in what we do. At LaLiga, we work to offer football fans the best audiovisual products and we know that vivo focuses on helping its users to enjoy the greatest experiences and to achieve the ‘Perfect shot’.”
Vivo has effectively strengthened its stance in the European sports market with its smart commercial decisions. The smartphone brand was an official partner of UEFA EURO 2020, the company also teamed up with FIFA Men’s World Cup 2022 and UEFA EURO 2024. The popular brand has also been appointed as the title sponsor of the Italian Women’s Volleyball League.
On the other hand, LaLiga recently launched an MBA program with Aspire Zone Foundation to provide high-quality education to sports enthusiasts and their career aspirations.
