JioCinema records 71.5 crore viewers for MI vs CSK clash

JioCinema garnered 933 crore minutes of viewing time, surpassing the IPL 2023 Final.

The official digital streaming partner of the Indian Premier League (IPL), JioCinema clocked more than 71.5 crore viewers for the epic clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which took place on April 14.

The match, which was won by the visiting team by 20 runs, saw Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s blistering last-over cameo and Rohit Sharma‘s scorching century.

The official streaming platform of the IPL garnered 933 crore minutes of viewing time and 13 crore viewers, surpassing the IPL 2023 Final.

With over 59 crore views at the outset of the 2024 season, JioCinema generated 660 crore minutes of watch time on Day 1. After 29 matches, more than 1200 crore views and 14,800 crore minutes of watch time were recorded from 38.3 crore people on the platform, representing a 42% increase in viewership over the same period last season. The average viewer spends over 80 minutes each match on Connected TV (CTV).

JioCinema’s free-to-play predict-and-win game Jeeto Dhan Dhana Dhan, which has raised general fan involvement, is another significant factor in the high viewership figures. Another selling point is that the IPL is accessible in 4K, with many camera options, including the adored Hero Cam, and in 12 languages, including Haryanvi for the first time.
