IPL 2023 CSK vs SRH: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

In the last outing between the two teams, which took place in the previous season, SRH won the game by eight wickets.

In the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai today i.e. Friday, April 21 at 7:30 PM IST.

The surface at Chepauk is batting-friendly and as the game proceeds, the hardness of the surface deteriorates. The lack of grass on the surface makes it great for spinners.

The Super Kings have won three of their five games and are third in the standings. They come into this game after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by eight runs in their last match. CSK scored 226 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs, aided by half-centuries from Devon Conway and Shivam Dube. Tushar Deshpande, who took three wickets for 45 runs in four overs, was once again CSK’s best bowler. The Chennai-based side is undergoing injury concerns, as it is unclear whether Ben Stokes will be able to play the match. Mitchell Santner is back from illness and should be available for the encounter against SRH, however, Sisanda Magala remains out.

SRH, on the other hand, had a less-than-ideal start to the season, losing their first two matches, but skipper Aiden Markram guided his side to two comprehensive triumphs, with opener Harry Brook scoring a superb century against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their fourth match. However, the team appeared to be suffering once again against Mumbai Indians (MI), as both the batting and bowling units failed to deliver, ending in a 14-run defeat. SRH have acquired the ninth spot on the table with three losses in five games, but Markram’s side will put their best foot forward against CSK to strengthen their position. Nevertheless, Chennai will like to maintain its position on the table with yet another win.

Head-to-head:

CSK have a significant advantage over SRH in the head-to-head competition. Both franchises played against each other on 18 occasions, with Chennai winning 13 and SRH winning five.

In the last outing between the two teams, which took place in the previous season, SRH won the game by eight wickets.
