ICC grants rights to TSM in Bangladesh for two years

TSM will partner with Nagorik TV to broadcast the matches on linear platforms.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has granted the rights to broadcast and stream ICC events in Bangladesh to Total Sports Marketing (TSM) for two years.

TSM will partner with Nagorik TV, a leading Bangladeshi satellite and cable television channel, to broadcast the matches on linear platforms.

Additionally, Banglalink, a Bangladeshi telecommunications company, has held the digital rights for the six ICC events covered by the agreement.

Cricket fans in Bangladesh can look forward to a packed calendar, including the highly anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the Caribbean and the USA.

The deal also encompasses the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025, and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.

Notably, Bangladesh will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, later this year.

ICC Chief Executive, Geoff Allardice, said, “We are delighted to have awarded ICC cricket rights to TSM for the Bangladesh territory, where there is a large and passionate fan base. With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup taking place in Bangladesh later this year, there is a real opportunity to grow the women’s game and engage with new and existing fans in partnership with our broadcast partner.”

TSM CEO, Md Moinul Haque Chowdury, said, “We are thrilled to secure broadcast and digital rights to ICC events over the next two years. Alongside numerous other international cricket rights TSM holds in the Bangladesh territory; securing ICC events rights is definitely the jewel in the crown. Bangladesh boasts a passionate cricket fanbase, therefore we are committed to delivering unparalleled coverage and immersive experiences to fans across the nation through our Broadcast partner Nagorik TV and Exclusive Digital Partner Banglalink.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC), founded in 1909, is cricket’s global governing body. It oversees major tournaments like the Cricket World Cup and T20 World Cup alongside ensuring fair play in international matches.

Nagorik TV is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel launched in 2018. The entity offers a variety of content including news, entertainment, and interviews, focusing on both Bangladeshi and international affairs.

Banglalink is a leading mobile network operator in Bangladesh that offers services including mobile data, voice calls, and messaging.

This announcement is followed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) securing multi-year sponsorship deals with Coca-Cola and Robi Axiata Limited.

Bangladesh will kick things off by hosting Zimbabwe for a five-match T20 series starting May 3. Then, they’ll head to the USA for a three-match T20 series starting May 20. Finally, they’ll begin their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup journey against Sri Lanka on June 7. The women’s unit will host the Indian women’s team for a five-match T20 series starting April 28.
