The first and only live sports channel for the airline and cruise line industries, Sport 24 has renewed its agreement with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to broadcast the UEFA Euro 2024.
The deal grants Sport 24 and its secondary channel, Sport 24 Extra, the right to air over 50 matches live from the tournament. This marks the third consecutive edition of the men’s competition to be broadcast by the media outlet.
Richard Wise, SVP, Content and Channels for IMG’s Media Business, said, “The UEFA EURO has delivered some of the most exciting international football action in recent years, with millions of fans around the world tuning in for every game. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with UEFA and ensure fans can enjoy seamless live coverage of the tournament even while travelling.”
Sport 24, IMG‘s inflight and in-ship live sports channel, was launched in 2012 to bring live sporting events directly to airline passengers. The media house technology allows travellers to catch the biggest games and thrilling moments as they happen, even at 40,000 feet.
As the world’s only live sports channel specifically designed for airlines and cruise ships, the entertainment entity boasts a viewership spanning nearly 600 airplanes and 115 cruise lines. Major airlines and cruise companies like Etihad Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, MSC Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Silversea are all included in this extensive network.
This acquisition strengthens Sport 24’s already impressive portfolio of live sports coverage, which currently includes the Premier League (PL), UEFA Champions League (UCL), UEFA Europa League (UEL), Formula One, the Paris 2024 Olympics, the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Australian Open (AO), cricket tournaments, and more.
Held in Germany, the continental championship of Europe will take place from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
