The Indian ace badminton player, PV Sindhu turned 27 on July 5 i.e., today. Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, also known as PV Sindhu, was born on July 5, 1995, in Hyderabad. She is a professional badminton player from India and the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal.

The ace shuttler first gained international recognition when she broke into the top 20 of the BWF World Ranking in September 2012, at the age of 17. She has been in the top 10 for most of her career.

The greatest achievement of Sindhu’s career occurred in 2016 when she became the youngest and first female athlete from India to win a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. Later that year, she received India’s fourth highest civilian honor, the Padma Shri Award.

In February 2019, Sindhu signed a four-year contract with the Chinese premium sports brand, Li-Ning. Her contract was the most lucrative sports sponsorship deal ever signed by an Indian female athlete. The deal was reportedly worth INR 53 crore.

Sindhu was named brand ambassador for JBL’s sports edition earphones in India. Sindhu has been the face of JBL’s sports headphones in numerous marketing and tv advertisements.

She also contributed INR 5 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh during the COVID-19 pandemic.
