Indian Super League team FC Bengaluru United along with the Spanish La Liga side Sevilla FC has been nominated for the Best Internationalisation Strategy Award presented by the World Football Summit organisation. Two other teams namely Premier League club Everton and Spanish club Valencia FC have also been nominated.

In January, FC Bengaluru United had partnered with Sevilla. The partnership aimed at introducing new technologies and creating a larger fan base for one of the most diverse and largest football markets in the world. The Best Internationalisation Strategy Award acknowledges the strategies taken by football clubs to introduce new techniques and creative ways to implement their ideas in the market.

Since their inception in 2018, FC Bengaluru United have enjoyed a lot of success. The club was crowned BDFA Super Division League Champions in January this year. Moreover, they have also been invited to participate in Asia’s oldest football tournament, the Durand Cup after a strong performance in 2020 I – League.

We are extremely excited and honoured to be nominated for the Best Internationalisation Strategy by the World Football Summit Awards,” said Gaurav Manchanda, FC Bengaluru United and Nimida Sports Founder.

Our partnership with Sevilla FC marked an important milestone in the way the game of football can grow and expand its horizons. Knowledge exchange and bringing the game close to its fans are just some of the key aspects that such partnerships look to achieve. We are delighted that our joint vision to grow the game with Sevilla FC has been recognised on such a prestigious platform.
