Cleveland Guardians secure long-term stadium naming rights extension with Progressive Insurance

Progressive has retained its role as the official insurance provider of Cleveland Guardians alongside the stadium naming rights.

Cleveland Guardians, a Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, have locked in a long-term extension with Progressive Insurance, an American insurance company, for the naming rights of their stadium.

This agreement has ensured Progressive Field remains the official name through the 2036 season, with a potential automatic extension until 2041 if the Guardians’ lease for the venue is renewed.

The deal signifies a continued partnership between the two organizations. Progressive will retain its role as the official insurance provider for the Cleveland baseball team alongside securing the stadium naming rights.

Additionally, fans can witness new Progressive signage incorporated around the ballpark’s exterior, particularly at the home plate entrance.

Brian Barren, President of Business at Cleveland Guardians, said, “As we continue to upgrade and reimagine our ballpark, continuing our partnership with Progressive gives our fans a consistent ballpark name with a worldwide brand, which is also a pillar of the northeast Ohio community.”

Progressive’s association with the Cleveland Baseball Stadium began in 2008. The company is a major player in the insurance industry, recognized as the leading auto insurer in the United States. Founded in 1937, Progressive offers coverage options, including car, motorcycle, home, and even pet insurance. Its commitment to innovation is evident, being among the first insurers to embrace online services and provide direct-to-consumer options alongside traditional channels.

While the Guardians have been on the road facing off against the Minnesota Twins, their home opener for the 2024 MLB season is fast approaching. The team will play at Progressive Field on Monday, April 8, as it takes on Chicago White Sox.
