The Premier League (PL) outfit, Burnley FC have announced a multi-year association with the video game developer, Sports Interactive.
In this deal, the football management simulation video games of Sports Interactive, i.e., Football Manager, will be the core part of the development.
Football Manager is a game series about football management that was created by British developer Sports Interactive and released by Sega. The game debuted in 1992 as Championship Manager.
Throughout the upcoming two seasons, the Football Manager logo will be featured in the Turf Moor stadium. Furthermore, the studio will also collaborate with the Lancashire Club on a series of intriguing digital and social activations and contests.
Richard Trafford, Sports Interactive’s Head of Partnerships and Business Development, said, “We are delighted to announce Burnley FC as our first new club partner for the coming season. They caught everyone’s eye last season under Championship Manager of the Year Vincent Kompany, playing a brilliant brand of football and winning the Championship in record time.
“The club have been a pleasure to work with since the idea was first discussed and we are all really looking forward to seeing Football Manager branding in the stadium for the first game of the season on Friday night against another long-standing SI partner, Manchester City. Everyone at the Studio wishes the club the best of luck on their return to the Premier League.”
Burnley FC, Head of Commercial, Marcus Mellor, said, “We’re pleased to partner with Sports Interactive ahead the 2023/24 season. In addition to the in-stadia branding, kicking off on Friday night’s game against Manchester City, throughout the season there will be lots of activations and competitions for fans to engage in. Football Manager is an exciting brand to be working with and I believe we can develop a really successful partnership together over the next two seasons.”
Recently, the club also inked sponsorship deals with Soccer Supplement, Omnia Group Services, BK8 and W88 ahead of the 2023–24 season.
On August 12, the team will make its English top-flight return against the reigning champions Manchester City. The Clarets will be aiming to establish their position in England’s top-tier league after capturing the EFL Championship in 2022-23.
