Brazilian giant Flamengo launches Socios fan token

Chiliz who owns Socios will launch a $MENGO fan token on the platform as part of the agreement.

Clube de Regatas do Flamengo becomes the third Brazilian football club to launch its own Socios fan token. The club follows Atlético Mineiro and Corinthians who have had already launched their tokens on Socios.com.

Blockchain provider Soicios.com adds one more footballing club to its packed portfolio by signing a new contract with Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Flamengo.

It has been reported that Chiliz, who owns Socios will launch a $MENGO fan token on the platform as part of the agreement.

The fan tokens which are issued on the Chiliz blockchain will serve as collectible digital assets. Various perks like access to voting rights in polls, VIP rewards, exclusive promotions, AR-enabled features, chat forums, games, and competitions will be provided to the fans.

Socios.com already has offices in Madrid, Istanbul, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires and is planning to open a new office in North America shortly. The firm is targeting “many more” fan token presentations in Latin America and throughout the world.

Gustavo Oliveira, communications and marketing vice-president at Flamengo, said, “Flamengo’s nation always embraces all of our partners and this time it won’t be different. We have a lot of confidence in the potential of fan tokens and believe that Flamengo’s fan engagement, the biggest fan base in the world, will be fantastic. We are excited by what is coming next.

Earlier this week, Spain’s La Liga became the newest organization to sign an agreement with Socios.com. The company signed a partnership deal as La Liga’s global fan engagement partner.

Socios.com has built an important presence in football, including deals with La Liga clubs Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Valencia, and Levante.
