ISL 2021/22 Sponsors Watch: NorthEast United FC

The Highlanders finished last in the league table in their first season.

NorthEast United FC is an Indian professional football club based in Guwahati, Assam, and has been competing in the Indian Super League since 2014. It is not any ordinary club, as it is labelled as special, for not just representing a particular state, but a whole region that consists of eight states, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Mizoram.

The Highlanders in their first season in the ISL finished last in the league table, collecting only 15 points from their 14 league games. However, in the last season, the club managed to finish third in the league table, collecting 33 points from their 20 league games.

That’s all from their playing pitch, let’s discuss how they have done on their business pitch as we see their sponsors and partners for the ongoing ISL 2021/22 season.

NorthEast United FC has inked a partnership with Seagram’s Imperial Blue. Through this partnership, both the entities aimed to reach out to the youth, as Seagram’s Imperial Blue has always focused on having the connection of youth in their business. While NorthEast United FC also believes in the same, as both look to improve their brand recognition among consumers, in addition, Imperial Blue could also be seen in the chest of the club’s jersey this season.

Moving forward, Parimatch news has been roped in as the main sponsor of the club this season. While BKT, the tire manufacturing company has extended its deal and has been labelled as the official partner, placing their logo on the sleeves of the player’s jersey for branding purposes.

NorthEast United has also penned down a deal with Guardian Healthcare, labelling the company as their official nutrition partner. The premium sportswear brand, SIX5SIX has also announced its partnership with the Highlanders, as their official kit and merchandise partner. This association has been pen down for a multi-year, where the sportswear brand will be designing the club’s home and away kits, practice kits, while the agreement also includes producing fan merchandise.

Amrit Cement, one of the leading cement manufacturing companies in the Northeast, has also joined hands with the highlanders and will also be taking up the role of shirt sponsor this season. Lastly, the blockchain-enabled fan token platform, Socios.com has signed a partnership with the NorthEast United FC, taking up the sleeves of the team jersey for its promotion alongside, BKT Tires. 

The Highlanders have already begun their ISL 2021/22 campaign, however, they faced defeat against Bengaluru FC 4-2. The club would like to make a comeback on 25th November, as they face Kerala Blasters in their next fixture.
