Andreas Pereira set to join Flamengo on loan

Andreas Pereira spent the last season on loan at Lazio and this will be the fourth season he is going out on loan.

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is set to join the Brazilian club Flamengo on loan for the 2021/22 season. The two clubs have already entered into talks and the deal is expected to be completed within this week. The 25-year-old midfielder will stay at Flamengo till the end of June 2022.

With the competition level is extremely high at Manchester United, it was always going to be tough for Andreas Pereira to find a place. Moreover now with the rise of Mason Greenwood and the introduction of Jadon Sancho, it’s more difficult for him.

Andreas Pereira spent the last season on loan at Lazio and this will be the fourth season he is going out on loan. Earlier he spent the 2016/17 season with Granada and the 2017/18 season with Valencia.

In all total, he has made 75 appearances for Manchester United with forty of those coming under Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first season itself. He has scored four goals so far. Pereira has two years left on his current contract having signed a new one in 2019.

The 2021/22 season of the English top-flight commenced on August 14 with the first fixture being played between Arsenal and Brentford, where the latter beat the former comprehensively. Manchester United beat Leeds United 5-1 in its first fixture of the season and will be seen in action on Sunday against Southampton
