Betano joins Romanian Cup as title sponsor

The brand will sponsor the Betano Romanian Cup for the upcoming three football seasons.

The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has signed a deal with Betano, to make it the naming partner of the Romanian Cup knockout tournament.

Betano is a sports betting brand owned by Kaizen Gaming. The brand will sponsor the Betano Romanian Cup for the upcoming three football seasons.

In addition to renaming the competition, the FRF has launched a format restructuring of the Romanian Cup to allow for more matches and better fan involvement opportunities.

Răzvan Burleanu, President of the Romanian Football Federation, said, “The oldest football competition in Romania receives the support of Betano the same year it is being reinvented.

“By implementing a new, modern, competitive format, one that is much more attractive and more dynamic, we expect to improve the level of play and strengthen the clubs’ relationships with their supporters.”

“I am sure that in the coming years, the support of our new main partner will contribute to the growth of this popular event.”

The Romanian Cup is the latest addition to Kaizen Gaming’s sponsorship portfolio, which also includes partnerships with Romanian clubs FCSB and Universitatea Craiova.

Outside of Romania, the firm has agreements with Sporting Lisbon, Benfica, and FC Porto in Portugal, Atlético Mineiro and Fluminense in Brazil, Lokomotiv Sofia in Bulgaria, and POAK and Olympiacos in Greece.
