The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has signed the dotted lines with the Indian multinational conglomerate, Tata Group for its inaugural edition. With this agreement, Tata Group has been named the official title sponsor.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India‘s (BCCI) secretary, Mr Jay Shah unveiled the new affiliation on its social media handle with the caption, “I am delighted to announce the #TataGroup as the title sponsor of the inaugural #WPL. With their support, we’re confident that we can take women’s cricket to the next level. @BCCI @BCCIWomen @wplt20”.
Tata Group, headquartered in India, is one of the leading business conglomerates that was founded in the year 1868 by Jamsetji Tata. The group holds operations in 100 countries across six continents and has products and services in more than 150 countries.
Tata Group is also serving as the official title partner of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The first edition of the marquee Indian women’s T20 league is all set to start on Saturday, March 4. The opening encounter will be played between Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
