The rebranded telecom operator Vodafone-Idea ‘VI’ has been added as the latest co-presenting sponsor by Star Sports for IPL 2020. Vodafone and Idea have had an engagement with the IPL in the past, however, this is the first-ever sponsorship deal which they have signed since its inception in August 2018.
Last month, Star India roped in Amazon, Dream11 and PhonePe as other co-presenting sponsors. With VI coming on board, Star India has filled all the slots of the co-presenting partner for the live broadcast.
Vodafone-Idea on Monday unveiled a new brand identity to rediscover itself. VI as a brand are committed to provide the best of the services to its customers and have a vision for the customers in future.
With this partnership, they believe Star India will play a major role in taking the new brand identity of VI to millions of viewers across India. Star India is already riding high on advertising revenues with more than 100 brands already signed up.
One of the officials of Star India said, “We already have 15 sponsors and 60 advertisers on board and currently we are in advanced stage with a few categories for associate sponsorship and many more for spot buys.”
With just a week away for the commencement of the league, Star India has managed to sell almost 90% of the inventory and sponsorship packages for the season. Star has decided to hold 8-10% inventory on IPL 2020 which will be sold independently at a 15-20% premium closer to the Diwali.
