Star India, the official broadcasters of Indian Premier League (IPL) has finally inked co-presenting partners deals with Amazon, Dream11 and Phone Pe, filling three out of four slots available for the upcoming IPL season.
SportsMint has learnt from reliable sources that each of the co-presenting partners shell out around 120-130 crores for the spot, while the associate partners have to shell in between 65-75 crores.
Earlier OPPO, the Chinese mobile handset brand was interested to fill the 4th slot of co-presenting partners in March. However, with the pandemic outbreak and the anti-China wave prevailing in the country because of the countries border dispute, they are yet to confirm the deal with Star India.
Meanwhile, the league’s media right holders, Star India has already signed deals with 10 broadcast sponsors for its IPL coverage this year. Amazon, Phone Pe and Dream11 are confirmed as co-presenting sponsors, whereas ITC Foods, Polycab, Asian Paints, Coca Cola, MRF, Mondolez and Kamala Pasand are the other brands that will advertise around the coverage.
It is estimated that the broadcasters have already sold 50-55% of the total available inventory. Star has managed to sell about half of the total available inventory. At present star has been charging ₹12lakhs per 10seconds add during the IPL 2020.
