The South Korean footballer, Son-Heung Min has been named the brand ambassador of the global beverage drink brand, Pepsi.

As per the multi-year deal, the 31-year-old striker will be featured in the company’s EA SPORTS FC partnership.

Son will complete Pepsi’s lucrative, star-studded line-up of talent to support its EA SPORTS FC 24 campaign. He is widely regarded as the greatest Asian footballer of all time and one of the best players in the English Premier League (PL). The current Tottenham Hotspur skipper will join Pepsi’s renowned list of players and trailblazers, which already includes Vini Jr. and Leah Williamson.

After South Korea’s premier forward was photographed at the EA SPORTS FC 24 early access event in London last week, Pepsi made the announcement via its Instagram handle.

Commenting on this new alliance, Son stated, “As a huge gaming fan, it’s a privilege to be part of this epic collaboration with EA SPORTS FC while teaming up with such a globally revered brand like Pepsi.”

Adam Warner, Head of Global Sports and Partnerships at PepsiCo, said, “Son is one of the most likable players in world football, that’s why it’s a joy to welcome him to the family as our new Pepsi ambassador! Pepsi has a rich tradition of teaming up with top talents, and Sonny’s unmistakable enthusiasm for all his pursuits, coupled with his deep affection for gaming, entertainment, and sports, made him the ideal choice to become our latest football ambassador”.

Developed by PepsiCo, Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink. Caleb Bradham first conceived of and introduced Brad’s Drink in 1893. In 1898, the drink’s name was changed to Pepsi-Cola, and in 1961, the brand’s name was abbreviated to Pepsi. It ranked second in terms of value among soft drink brands globally in 2022, only behind Coca-Cola
