Roundglass Sports, a platform that enables children to develop their creativity, has announced India’s number-one golfer, Shubhankar Sharma, as its brand ambassador.
A long-term sponsorship deal has been reached to this effect, whereby Roundglass Sports will serve as the primary sponsor of the 27-year-old Chandigarh golfer.
Shubhankar will also be endorsing various Roundglass verticals, which consist of the Rounglass Foundation and the Roundglass Golf Academy, which is set to open in two years. These initiatives are a natural extension of Roundglass Sports’ mission to encourage and promote elite athletes in India, including marquee golfers, who have the potential to compete and succeed on the world stage.
At the age of 16, prodigal talent Shubhankar made his professional debut in 2013. He was the top golfer in Asia in 2018 and is presently the highest-ranked Indian in men’s professional golf globally (#188 on the official world golf ranking). Since 2018, Shubhankar has held a position on the European and Asian Tours. He frequently competes on the PGA Tour as well.
Shubhankar has participated in every Major golf event and achieved the best-ever Indian finish at The Open, the world’s oldest golf tournament. He tied for ninth place at last year’s 151st Open in Liverpool.
Furthermore, he has also won the Maybank Championship and the Johannesburg Open on the European Tour.

In 2018, Shubhankar was presented with the Arjuna Award, the nation’s second-highest accolade for athletes. In addition, he won the Asian Tour Order of Merit and the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year title in 2018.
