The National Basketball Association team, Philadelphia 76ers have appointed the cryptocurrency company Crypto.com to become their new jersey patch sponsor. Earlier the Sixers had the logo of StubHub with whom they signed a deal in 2017/18 after the NBA allowed logos to be featured on the jerseys.
According to the terms of this new deal, the Crypto.com logo will be appearing in all four jerseys of the Philadelphia Sixers as well as on advertisement boards at the Wells Fargo Stadium. Moreover, the team will also be launching its first NFT (Non Fungible tokens) which will be available for the fans. Supporters will be able to purchase this NFT through Crypto.com NFT.
“We’re extremely excited to announce our partnership with the 76ers,” said Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com. “The NBA is one of the most popular leagues in the world, and the 76ers were an obvious choice. Together we’re going to create integrated experiences for fans everywhere; our patch and court integrations are just the beginning.”
“We are thrilled to launch a long-term partnership with such a progressive team at Crypto.com, a company that shares our drive for greatness,” said Chris Heck, Sixers president of business operations. “Crypto.com will be woven into the fabric of our identity, and together, we will change the landscape for how crypto is integrated in sports.“
Crypto.com was founded in 2016 and currently has over 10 million users on its app. It’s one of the world’s largest platforms for NFT exchanges. Currently, it has tie-ups with Formula 1, UFC, French Ligue 1 team Paris Saint-Germain and the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens.
