Paris 2024 inks a sponsorship deal with Sodexo

Sodexo Live! is set to provide 40,000 meals during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The organising committee for the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games has agreed on a sponsorship deal with the catering company Sodexo. The company already had won the athlete catering tender and this agreement will build the relationship further between both parties.

The company and its subsidiary, Sodexo Live! join the official supporter tier of the sponsorship portfolio. Sodexo won the tender for athlete catering contract back in May 2020, which will see Sodexo Live! provide 40,000 daily meals for 14,850 athletes from 206 Olympic delegations and 182 Paralympic delegations.

The company’s Sodexo Live! division has been providing services to major sporting events, which includes the likes of Royal Ascot, the French Open and the Rugby World Cup. This deal with Paris 2024 will see the firm provide catering for the general public at around 15 competition venues. Paris 2024’s corporate social responsibility focus and commitment to developing a model for sustainable catering, will be supported by the company in this agreement. 

As an official sponsor, Sodexo is placed in the third tier of the domestic sponsorship portfolio for Paris 2024, which sits below the mid-ranking official partner tier and highest premium partner tier.

Etienne Thobois, Chief executive of Paris 2024 told that organisers had already secured more than €500m ($ 591m) in sponsorship revenue. They are aiming to fund €1.1bn of the projected €3.9bn organisational budget for the Games through the private sector.

Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024 was delighted in announcing Sodexo as an Official supporter, he said: “I am delighted that Sodexo Group is joining the Paris 2024 adventure. We chose Sodexo Live! for their expertise. which will enable us to provide athletes with optimal catering services. Because for them, the experience of the Game is also about food. We and the Sodexo Group, which is staunchly committed to tackling CSR issues, share the aim of delivering socially and environmentally responsible Games.”
