MLC 2023 goes global with multiple international broadcast deals

The all-new professional cricket league in the United States (US), the Major League Cricket (MLC) announced that its landmark first-ever season can be viewed live on several channels across numerous cricketing countries, which includes FOX Cricket in Australia, SportsMax in the Caribbean, Sky NZ in New Zealand, A Sports in Pakistan, SuperSport in South Africa and BT Sport in the United Kingdom.

In addition, MLC had previously also revealed Willow TV and Viacom18 as broadcast partners in the United States and India, respectively.

The media agreements will bring the revolutionary T20 franchise tournament to cricket enthusiasts all over the world, showcasing several of the world’s top players participating in the United States for the first time. For all the games at Grand Prairie Stadium in North Texas and Church Street Park in North Carolina, the television coverage will include a top-notch production with a 30-camera set-up.

The coverage for MLC’s opening match between Texas Super Kings and Los Angeles Knight Riders will begin at 6 am IST on Friday, July 14. Seattle OrcasMI New York, Texas Super Kings, Washington Freedom, San Francisco Unicorns and Los Angeles Knight Riders are participating in MLC’s debut season.

Grand Prairie Stadium, the latest cricket-specific facility in the Dallas area, will play host to 12 matches in the pioneering American professional cricket tournament. On the other hand, seven contests likewise will take place at Church Street Park in Morrisville, North Carolina.

Faf du Plessis, Akeal Hosein, Mitchell SantnerWanindu HasarangaMarcus StoinisQuinton de KockWayne ParnellAnrich Nortje, and Marco Jansen are among the stars set to compete in the first season of the MLC.
