The American multinational financial services corporation, Mastercard has unveiled a special anthem starring brand ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni to let millions of cricket fans recall the 2011 World Cup victory.
In the campaign, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain sings the song while reliving the crucial events that led to the historic victory at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium 12 years ago. It depicts an impressive number of fans roaring for the Men in Blue as they beat the Sri Lankan team by six wickets to win the coveted title.
The anthem, which is powered by Mastercard’s recognizable Sonic trademark song, is themed ‘Har fan hai priceless’ (every fan is priceless). The former Indian captain also emphasizes how much it helps players’ morale when they hear cheers from cricket fans. Additionally, it depicts Dhoni recalling the instant when fans in the stadium started singing ‘Vande Mataram.’
Julie Nestor, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing & Communications, Asia Pacific, Mastercard, said, “This anthem is a tribute by Mastercard to millions of India’s cricket fans who breathe life into the game. As ICC’s global partner for this year’s World Cup and a brand which has a strong connection with Indian cricket, Mastercard is committed to providing memorable opportunities and experiences to fans. The undying spirit and depth of emotions exhibited by fans in every match that India plays is simply priceless.”
