Manchester City, Gatorade sign partnership extension

The Premier League side, Manchester City, has signed a partnership extension with the sports and nutrition drink, Gatorade

In this development, the company will prolong to be the official sports nutrition brand of both men’s and women’s teams. The partnership renewal has been inked till 2025.

The two parties involved collaborated for the first time in 2017, and the women’s team was later included when the association was extended in 2019. 

Since the initial partnership, the current Premier League champions have been privileged of utilising Gatorade’s sports fuel products, equipment and cutting-edge science via Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI).

Since the commencement of the agreement, the two entities have curated diverse high-performing, informative video content for club fans across the globe, along with exposure for the brand at the Eithad Stadium and Academy for all fixtures of men’s and women’s first teams. 

Following the extension, Gatorade will prolong to collaborate with Manchester City through state-of-the-art GSSI innovation initiatives in sports hydration and sweat. 

Speaking on the extension, Sam Erith, Head of Sports Science (First Team) at Manchester City, said, “We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Gatorade which has continued to strengthen and expand over the last five years.

“The club has collaborated with Gatorade across a number of key areas for both our men’s and women’s teams to help fuel our athletes in training and on matchdays.

“The knowledge Gatorade has around athlete performance is unparalleled and has been beneficial to the club as we continue to strive for success on the pitch and we look forward to continuing to collaborate in the future.” 

 Mark Kirkham, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer at PepsiCo, said, “Over the past five years we’ve built a strong relationship with Man City, working closely with the club to help power players through nutrition, training and match days.

“From providing access to our world-leading GSSI experts and decades of sports science research, to bespoke athlete testing and fuelling programmes, Gatorade has been helping support the club and its athletes combat the physical demands of the sport in order to achieve greatness.

Ahead of the 2022/23 edition of the English top-flight, Manchester City have also struck a deal with Acronis, OKX and 8Xbet.

The club will commence its Premier League title defence on August 7 against West Ham United
