Manchester City receive assist from Quidd for fan engagement initiative

This collaboration marked a first in the English top-flight league, with Man City becoming the first club to launch a collection of interactive 3D digital collectible cards.

The Premier League (PL) team, Manchester City FC (MCFC) have announced a new partnership with Quidd, a digital collectibles platform.

This collaboration is the first of its kind in the English top-flight league, with Man City becoming the first club to launch a collection of interactive 3D digital collectibles cards.

The partnership is aimed to provide Cityzens with a new and exciting way to connect with the club.

Cityzens, who actively participate in collecting the digital cards, can gain the opportunity to unlock exclusive real-world rewards. These rewards include official merchandise, match hospitality tickets, and the chance to witness a training session with the team.

Tom Boyle, Vice-President, Global Partnerships Marketing and Operations at City Football Group, said, “We’re pleased to announce our new partnership with Quidd today. We’re excited to help transform the traditional football pastime of cards and collectibles in a new digital age alongside Quidd, enabling us to further connect with our fans across the globe. We look forward to working together on creating new digital experiences and games for our fans to enjoy”.

Michael Bramlage, Chief Executive Officer at Quidd, said, “We’re delighted to be working with Manchester City, one of the very best clubs in the game. This partnership signals our intent to revolutionise the world of sport collectibles. We have an ambition to be the best, most successful digital collectibles business – so it makes complete sense for Quidd to align with Manchester City, the most forward-thinking and progressive football club on earth. Quidd will provide fans with a fun and easy way to connect with their favourite football clubs and players.”

Quidd is a digital marketplace for collectors to buy, sell, and trade officially licensed digital collectibles. Launched in 2016, the non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace offers a wide variety including digital stickers, trading cards, and even 3D figures featuring 325 brands and more than 8M users worldwide.

Building upon their commitment to a multi-faceted fan experience strategy, MCFC recently prolonged their partnership extension with Qualtrics to gather fan feedback and further enhance matchday experiences.

City are having a strong 2023-24 season. They’re aiming to win the PL for a record-breaking fourth year in a row, and they’re just one step away from FA Cup glory with a final against arch-rivals Manchester United FC (MUFC). Their next challenge is against Brighton & Hove Albion FC on April 26.
