The legendary football player, Lionel Messi has been named the ‘Icon’ of Royal Caribbean International‘s (RCI) new ship, ‘Icon of the Seas’.
Messi will take part in the naming ceremony for the cruise as a result of the arrangement in January 2024 in Miami. The Icon of Icon will have the honour of conferring safekeeping on the new ship, its crew, and the millions of families who will make lifelong memories on board in the years ahead.
Whether a “family vacation” means travelling with friends, family, or both, Icon’s extensive roster of firsts and next-level favourites spread across eight neighbourhoods allows everyone to create memories every day in their unique way. Every neighbourhood has its attractions, live entertainment, dining options, pubs, and more, making it a destination unto itself.
Recently, Royal Caribbean and Messi’s current team, Inter Miami CF, also struck a partnership, with the former being named the official vacation partner and main partner.
On the deal, Lionel Messi, commented, “I’m thrilled and honoured to join the Royal Caribbean family to celebrate the arrival of the game-changing Icon of the Seas.
