Inter Miami join hands with Royal Caribbean International in multi-year deal

With this development, Royal Caribbean International has become Inter Miami's main partner and official vacation partner.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) club, Inter Miami have announced a multi-year sponsorship deal with a cruise line company, Royal Caribbean International (RCI).

The two companies have joined forces in an unusual relationship that will bring together the fervour and dedication of the two sectors’ dominant brands – vacations and sports.

With this development, the brand has become the club’s main partner and official vacation partner.

The biggest cruise line in the world and Inter Miami made a bold start to their cooperation by formally welcoming international football legends and their families to Miami in July. La Presentación, the much-awaited unveiling event, signalled the beginning of a new era as “Freedom to Dream” took center stage at a packed DRV PNK Stadium.

Jason Liberty, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group, said, “Royal Caribbean started in Miami more than 50 years ago, and we have always had heart and passion for our community. It’s been exciting to see Inter Miami’s success, including their recent Leagues Cup title, energize South Florida. As the Club’s Main Partner, we are thrilled to build on that momentum together and deliver memorable moments to fans around the world.”

Inter Miami CF Managing Owner Jorge Mas, said, “We are proud to partner with Royal Caribbean, an iconic Miami brand. As a global leader in the cruise industry, Royal Caribbean shares Inter Miami’s innovative drive. Together, we will set the standard for the future of sports partnerships.”

Starting with the following home game at DRV PNK Stadium, fans will witness the partners working together on and off the field via stadium LED, in-game programming, fan zone activations, the club’s digital and social channels, and more.

Additionally, local initiatives in South Florida will bring the two hometown favorites’ shared dedication to the area to life. This builds on Royal Caribbean’s decades-long tradition of honoring and supporting the ports of call it visits and Inter Miami’s dedication to using soccer for good since the club’s founding.

Inter Miami CF Chief Business Officer, Xavier Asensi, said, “We always look for the opportunities that will provide us with an authentic partnership, and this one is a perfect fit. This partnership makes total sense for all of us: two local brands with global audiences and huge ambitions.”

Kara Wallace, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Royal Caribbean International, said, “Royal Caribbean and Inter Miami have won the hearts and minds of fans from around the world. Together as partners, the possibilities to reach more dreamers and adventurers are exponential from ship to pitch, especially as we look forward to the arrival of the new Icon of the Seas to Miami.”

The collaboration comes just as a new age of holidays is about to begin. As Miami welcomes one landmark, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas will follow in January 2024. The cruise line’s best-selling ship welcomes all types of families and adventurers as the first-of-its-kind amalgamation of every holiday, from the resort retreat to the beach escape and the theme park adventure. A neighbourhood created for young families, record-breaking thrills, calming ways to relax, more than 40 places to eat, drink, and be amused, and more opportunities for everyone to create memories together and go on their own adventures without compromising.
