ISL launches digital collectibles with Terra Virtua

The debut collection of these digital collectibles comprises 27,500 team posters and 242,000 trading cards.

The Indian Super League (ISL) had already announced its partnership with Terra Virtua in September. As promised both have launched the exclusive series of digital collectibles. In a mega launch hosted by both entities, Terra Virtua announced its platform offering the Indian football fans a chance to own a digital collectible of their favourite club and players.

While the debut collection of these digital collectibles comprises 27,500 team posters and 242,000 trading cards, it will be made available to the fans ahead of the ISL 2021-22 season.

Apart from that, the digital collectibles will also include some rare team posters from all the present ISL eleven teams. While it will also include a Titans Collection of player trading cards of the biggest stars in Indian football.

Lastly, as a special first-time offer, every fan will be getting a free digital collectible of the club they support as they sign up for the first time on the Terra Virtua platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Terra Virtua CEO and co-founder, Gary Bracey said: “This is an incredibly exciting moment for Indian football fans, who now have the chance to own an exclusive part of their club’s history. We’re delighted to be driving the digital transformation of sports fan engagement through digital collectables, bringing people even closer to their favourite teams.”

Adding to it, an ISL Spokesperson said: “We are excited to enter yet another first as we become India’s first sports league to have its digital collectables go live. I am sure this will engage the vast demographics of fans of the Hero Indian Super League and all its clubs and make them feel closer to the action.”

“It has been our constant endeavor to connect with our audiences and keep up with trends that define the future of sport. This is a testament to ISL’s growing popularity across the younger generation and lays down the benchmark for the sports industry in India,” he concluded.

The Indian Super League will be returning for its eighth season this year, starting from 19th November. ATK Mohan Bagan and Kerala Blasters will play the opening match of the season. However, the tournament will be played without the fans in the stadium and only be played across the stadiums present in Goa due to the Covid-19. While the 2021-22 season will end in March 2022.
