IPL 2024 SRH vs CSK: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

Both franchises faced each other 19 times, with CSK winning 14 and SRH winning just five.

In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, today, i.e., Friday, April 5 at 7:30 PM IST.

The Sunrisers have looked like a strong side and we have seen some glimpses of it too, however, the unit hasn’t been consistent, which can be clearly seen in the points tally as well. From three matches, the side has just managed to defeat Mumbai Indians (MI). The likes of Heinrich Klassen, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram have shown tremendous skills with the bat but need to continue it tonight at home. On the contrary, the Pat Cummins-led side will also strive to take early-on wickets on the backsoil pitch. Subsequently, spinners will also be handy tonight.

Similar to the Hyderabad-based side, CSK are also coming to this game after facing a defeat to Delhi Capitals (DC). While the unit was looking in top shape at the start of the competition, the middle order got exposed in the last match, and surely it seems that the team is heavily dependent on the top order. Once again, Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube will be tested by SRH bowlers, while the likes of Sameer Rizvi will aim to capitalise on his chance. Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni also couldn’t take CSK over the finish line and thus a lot of confidence will be up for grabs once the duo reach out on the crease with the willow. With the ball too, the side has many options and given how the unit has performed, it can be any bowler giving out his career best on his day.

Head-to-head:

CSK possess an important lead over SRH in the head-to-head matchup. Both franchises faced each other 19 times, with Chennai winning 14 and SRH winning just five.

In the last outing between the two teams, which took place in the previous season, CSK won the game by seven wickets.
