IPL 2024 DC vs LSG: Match preview, head-to-head and streaming details

LSG enjoy a significant advantage against DC in head-to-head encounters, winning three out of four.

In the 64th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi tonight, i.e., May 14, at 7:30 PM IST.

DC have triumphed in six out of 13 games thus far, and a win at home against LSG will boost their playoff hopes. The Capitals played their last game without their skipper, Rishabh Pant, nonetheless, Axar Patel led the unit impressively. However, the unit lost its last match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 47 runs but the return of Pant will undoubtedly bolster the team’s confidence. The team will once again have Jake Fraser-McGurk starting the innings boldly, with Abishek Porel, Shai Hope, and Pant forwarding the proceedings. DC are also investing heavily in Kumar Kushagra and he certainly needs to mirror it soon. With the ball too, the pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed have been deadly, and with them, Rasikh Salam has been impressive too. Not to forget, the likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar will also come heavily against LSG batters.

On the other hand, LSG have played 12 games and won six while losing six. The unit can still get 16 points and hope Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lose their upcoming games. The Super Giants play Delhi and Mumbai in the next two games and with playing conditions quite similar in both cities, LSG would back themselves heavily to grab four points. After suffering a crushing loss to SRH by 10 wickets in Lucknow, the team would be fine playing away from home. In terms of performances, Quinton de Kock has not been at his best, while skipper KL Rahul has only shown his skills in a few games. Marcus Stoinis has been decent at number three, but the side also misses stability in the middle-overs, and thus the likes of Deepak HoodaNicholas PooranAyush Badoni, and Ashton Turner need to perform as well. The unit has been producing top quality with the ball, with Mohsin Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, and others too have been decent.

Head-to-Head:

LSG enjoy a significant advantage against DC in head-to-head encounters, winning three out of four. Earlier this season, DC won their first match against LSG by six wickets at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
