In the ninth game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Mumbai Indians (MI) will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday, April 2 at the DY Patil Stadium at 3:30 PM IST.
Rajasthan Royals seemed invincible when they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) earlier this week. The champions of the inaugural season ticked all the boxes and made a statement that they are a force to reckon with. The Rajasthan-based team will look forward to clinching their second victory of the ongoing edition.
On the other end, Mumbai Indians will enter this fixture on the back of a defeat against Delhi Capitals (DC). The five-time IPL champions are well-equipped with their batting despite some fresh names. After their first game of the season, the only drawback that can be seen for MI is their death bowling. The Mumbai bowlers managed to pick wickets in the powerplay but couldn’t minimise the flow of runs in the death overs. The prime bowler, Jasprit Bumrah needs to be at his absolute best for the team to succeed. Rohit Sharma will count on his experienced and in-form players to step up and register their first victory of the season.
